Required Experience:

Primary Roles, Responsibilities
Top-Tier Manager
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the ED is responsible for fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture that prioritizes high standards of performance.
Guide daily operations
Manage the organization’s fiscal resources with integrity
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to fulfill governance functions, implement Board-approved policies, and support strategic direction
Lead development and implementation of the organization’s strategic growth plan
Dynamic Face of the Organization
Act as a key spokesperson and advocate, promoting The Journey Fund as a crucial resource for cancer care in South Puget Sound and an asset to the community.
Leadership
The ED will lead with vision, empathy, and accountability, supporting the organization’s mission and goals.
Drive achievement of The Journey Fund’s mission and organizational goals
Champion a clear, forward-looking vision
Manage and inspire staff and volunteers with respect and empathy
Uphold the highest levels of integrity and ethics
Build and maintain strong relationships with the cancer care community and other stakeholders
Facilitate a strong, collaborative relationship with the Board, supporting their leadership responsibilities through ongoing engagement and clear communication
Ensure financial sustainability and collaborate with Board and staff to execute the strategic plan
Fund Development
Oversee and lead fund development efforts, focusing on sustainable and creative strategies to meet financial goals.
Collaborate closely with Board members to identify prospects, develop proposals, and secure funding
Guide Board and staff in setting and implementing annual and long-term fundraising goals
Board Development
Partner with the Board of Directors to achieve fund development goals and encourage active involvement in outreach and growth initiatives.
Utilize Board members' professional networks to expand The Journey Fund’s Board and community presence
Communication
Maintain strong, professional relationships with patients, donors, Board members, and the community.
Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries, involving appropriate Board members as needed
Keep stakeholders informed about organizational activities through various communication channels
Develop and maintain a current, accurate database of organizational information
Ensure a positive public image for The Journey Fund

The Journey Fund assists those affected by cancer who are facing social, financial, or emotional obstacles on their courageous journey with dignity. By addressing barriers through acts of kindness and dignity, The Journey Fund ensures that no one should feel alone on the journey.
Our purpose is to provide services ranging from transportation to daily needs, physical and mental wellness, and program development.
