OIC of South Florida (OIC-SFL) is a community-based leader in providing quality self-help skills and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and underemployed residents; thus, assisting them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society. Its work is accomplished through three divisions: Workforce Development, Youth and Families, and OIC Strategic Integration (Social Enterprise Cooperation).
Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for ensuring that the organization is well-positioned in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment by being an agent for ongoing organizational change, assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating all operational aspects of the organization to foster continuous quality improvement and effective, efficient performance. The position ensures that strategies are clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the organization is achieving its strategic, financial, and contractual goals at an optimum pace and level.
The COO is responsible for a variety of high-impact activities including internal operations, oversight of two regions (Broward County and Miami Dade County), providing strategic leadership and oversight for program and facilities operations, human resources, and site expansion. This role is instrumental in ensuring consistent and effective internal policies, procedures, processes, and communications to strengthen OIC of South Florida?s operational functions and further position the organization for continued success.
The COO is responsible for the operational execution and contract negotiations of the for-profit Social Enterprise, assuring successful execution per organizational, contractual goals and standards. The role will work closely with the President/CEO on business expansion strategies, business development, and execution of all business matters.

Essential Duties and Requirements:
Internal Relationships
This position works closely with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, Committees of the Board, and senior staff to assess, revise, develop, implement, and evaluate organizational policies, priorities, systems, and associated endeavors and businesses. Leads and develops senior staff to grow long-term goals, policies, and strategies to ensure successful operations, programming, fundraising, and community initiatives. Considers and analyzes the implications of proposed actions and decisions by individual areas of the whole organization.
Leadership Oversight & Responsibilities
Oversee all operations of OIC of South Florida and its associated entities, assuring efficiencies, compliance, and performance of all contractual agreements with funding entities, sub-contractors, and other entities. This position assures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to all elements of the organization. Additionally, this role provides executive leadership of all human resources and administrative functions of the organization, assuring effective and efficient execution.
Organizational Planning
Facilitates the development, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational plans.
Partnership with the CEO, Board and executive team, development and successful execution of the strategic plan.
Leads the organization through transformation and ongoing change.
Ensures clarity, understanding, commitment, and the successful execution of OIC-SFL operations among all executive leaders, directors, managers, employees, partners, and more.
Leads the execution and integration of the strategy-aligned departmental work plans,
Manages organizational operations in alignment with the annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the President/CEO and senior leadership team.
