10+ years of progressive experience in leadership roles that involve fund development and communications, with a proven track record in donor relations, campaign planning, and major gift solicitations.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a successful major and principal gift solicitation history.
Ability to build and cultivate long-term donor relationships and advance fundraising performance.
Experience designing and executing strategic development and communications plans.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage volunteers and donors effectively.
High energy, passion for Jubilee Housing's mission, strong time management, and attention to detail.

Position Description
The VP of Advancement has strategic and operational responsibility for Jubilee’s development and communications functions, leading successful delivery of the resources needed to support the mission now and into the future. The VP is part of an innovative Executive Leadership team that is integral to the future strategy and direction of the organization, vital to board leadership, and essential to building institutional relationships. It reports to the CEO, provides leadership for the Board’s Leadership Council, and leads a team of five other development and communication professionals. The advancement function includes responsibility for the annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts and gift planning, capital campaigns, stewardship, and advancement services. The Vice President provides leadership and oversight for the communications function as well, driving visibility and expanding our base of support.
Specific Duties
Strategic Leadership
Leads strategy and design of funding and communications programs, supporting a director and manager with implementation.
Collaborates with the CEO, Executive Leadership, and External Affairs to strengthen key funder relationships and enhance JHI’s impact, engaging both new and existing partners.
Incubates new directions for furthering the organization’s thought leadership presence and impact.
Development
In conjunction with the CEO and Executive Team, guides the development activities for the organization, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
Oversees design and works with Development Director to implement the annual Development Plan and calendar.
Maintains a dynamic portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and secure major, capital, and planned gifts, as well as advanced annual gifts and endowment support.
Develops new programs to strengthen the financial resources of the organization and meet the needs of new initiatives.
Oversees design and implementation of signature annual events.
Ensures that systems are in place for highest quality cultivation and stewardship of donors and partners.
Works collaboratively with the CEO, the COO, and the CFO to create an annual budget and manage fundraising projections.
Works with the CFO to project cash flows throughout the year.
Communications
Oversees design and implementation of annual communication plan.
Ensures that communications and development activities are well aligned and mutually reinforce increase visibility and impact.
Elevates presence and impact of communications initiatives, including online presence, media engagement and other outlets.
Partnerships
Increases visibility and collaboration across networks, including philanthropy, government, business, and non-profit partner communities.
Cultivate relationships with corporate, foundation, and government partners to secure support for Jubilee Housing’s initiatives.
Team Development
Leads a team of five professionals, including a Director of Development, Communications Manager, and roles in development, communications, grants, and social media.
Fosters a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, learning, and quality.
Sets staff goals, monitors performance, assigns responsibilities, conducts annual reviews, and provides mentorship.
Collaborates with departmental leaders to ensure effective cross-team coordination and impact.
