Required Experience:

Education and Experience
*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a field related to nonprofit management, environmental studies, business administration, etc.
*At least three years of experience in grant writing and management, non-profit development and fundraising or a relevant field.

Skills & Abilities
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Suite and nonprofit CRM software.
*Ability to craft coherent, organized, and compelling proposals, reports, and other outreach materials and to distill complex topics into language that is accessible.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent listening, organization, and critical thinking skills matched with the ability balance multiple high-priority deliverables simultaneously
*Excellent attention to detail and a systems-oriented mindset to ensure accurate data tracking and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:
*4-5 years of non-profit fundraising experience
*Demonstrated interest in the nonprofit sector, the environment and/or public interest law
*Demonstrated success in any or all of the following:
*donor prospecting, cultivation and stewardships
*fundraising campaign development and implementation
*designing and implementing a major gifts strategy
*grants identification and proposal writing
*managing a donor pipeline and moving donors through the donor relationship process using wealth research and donor CRM tools; and/or
*working with organizational leadership and key program staff to support their fundraising success.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
*This position is primarily office-based, with the potential for remote work for up to two days per week.
*Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for deadlines or events.
*Ability to occasionally travel as required for donor meetings or events.
*Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. EIP will request a copy of your vaccination card.

Duties / Expectations:

Grants Management
*Prospects Research & Identification
*Identify and evaluate potential foundation donors and grant opportunities that align with EIP’s mission, strategic goals, and programs.
*Work with other EIP staff to collect and communicate data, narratives, and other materials required for outreach, proposals and reporting.

Coordination
*Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar for tracking deadlines, report submissions, and renewal opportunities
*Coordinate inputs from EIP program staff, leadership, and finance teams by developing and sending weekly grant deadline reports, ensuring that program managers have appropriate proposal and report templates, and providing ample notice to meet grant report and proposal deadlines.
*Maintain comprehensive grant files, including applications, contracts, reports, and correspondence.

Grant proposals & reporting
*Working in partnership with program staff and EIP leadership, prepare grant proposals and ensure alignment with funder guidelines.
*Monitor all active grants to ensure compliance with reporting guidelines and donor requirements.
*Working in partnership with program staff and EIP leadership, prepare and submit grant reports, coordinating inputs to report narratives and financial reports.
*Complete final proofreading and formatting of grant reports, donor communications, and proposals to ensure quality meets EIP organizational standards and brand guidelines.

Individual Donor Prospects & Management
*Manage fundraising database, maintain accurate mailing lists, and produce standard fundraising reports.
*Substantially contribute to the development of annual and quarterly fundraising plans and strategies for donor outreach, retention, and growth; help track progress against goals and milestones.
*Help achieve annual activity and outcome goals, including set number of donor outreach efforts, major giving outreach, new donors, and dollars raised.
*Conduct prospect research and plans to identify, cultivate and solicit individual and foundations prospects capable of investing in EIP’s work.
*Prepare, send, and track regular fundraising appeals and donor outreach
*Engage and support Board Members, EIP leadership team members, and EIP program staff when appropriate in developing and stewarding donor relationships.
*Keep detailed records of the strategies, steps, and progress of each relationship using the donor database.
*Maintain the highest quality of standards to ensure positive relationships with past, current and potential donors.

Systems and Organizational Support
*Take responsibility for all aspects of gift receipt and management, including receiving, depositing, and documenting contributions and grants, issuing timely acknowledgements, and tracking donor contributions and grant income.
*Stay informed about trends in nonprofit funding, grant management practices, and compliance regulations; support leadership with updates and recommendations regarding fundraising, grant compliance and performance.
*Provide guidance to staff on using the donor CRM and other grants tools.
*Track and renew state charitable registrations.
*Plan occasional fundraising, organizational, and outreach events.
*Provide further development and administrative support as needed.
