Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent experience as determined by the selection committee.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within affordable housing, community development, or a nonprofit organization.
• Proven track record in fund development, grant evaluation and oversight, resource development, and financial management.

Duties / Expectations:

The Ideal Candidate will have:
• In-depth understanding of affordable housing programs, policies, and challenges, particularly in California.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local funding sources and regulatory frameworks for affordable housing.
• Proficiency in and/or understanding in property acquisition, development of new construction and rehabilitation of existing structures, permitting, and overall construction management.
• Proficiency in construction and permitting.
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a diverse team, both onsite and offsite, and set and communicate a clear vision.
• The capacity to identify and respond to long-term opportunities and challenges.
• The ability to address challenges with innovative solutions to achieve organizational goals.
• A strong understanding of nonprofit budgeting, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building skills with a commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships.
• Proven track record in fund development, grant evaluation and oversight, resource development, and financial management.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English and the ability to communicate effectively in both languages is highly desirable.
