Generally expected to have 12+ years of relevant work experience in communications strategy. 5+ years management, leadership experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience writing executive communications that align with business objectives.
Strong public speaking skills.
Ability to analyze data and patterns to drive data-based decisions.
Demonstrated experience building strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while working under multiple deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other technologies; social media networking skills/experience a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and evening commitments, as well as business-related travel.

Position Overview
In 1913, John D. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, the Managing Director, Executive Communications develops and drives a mission-focused communications strategy that elevates The Rockefeller Foundation’s voice. They will serve as Chief Storyteller, tasked with building the deepest understanding of The Rockefeller Foundation’s unique approach to resourcing and advocating for making opportunity universal.
Pay Range: $188,254 - $240,313. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
Work Schedule: This role is on a hybrid work schedule, and required to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the VP, the Managing Director will direct messaging and advocacy through writing, presentations, and speeches, assuring alignment with organizational goals and brand.
Build institutional and executive positioning strategies and leverage existing networks and advance others to support all engagement outreach strategies.
Work directly with communications team members and senior leaders to develop and execute positioning strategies.
Support advocacy and engagement strategies to recruit critical audiences around the world.
Assist the VP in the development of KPIs and metrics and improve systems and processes for tracking engagement activities.
Work closely with the President’s office on board and partnership communications.
Build and maintain positive, constructive working relationships with all levels within the organization.
