Required Experience:
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit, educational, or cultural organization.
Prior success leading cross-functional teams by leading leaders.
Proven ability to realize (or materially impact) earned and contributed annual revenue of more than $5M.
Experience building and managing (or materially facilitating) annual budgets of more than $5M.
Success developing and implementing strategic plans.
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Familiarity with STEAM education and innovative and creative programming is highly desirable.
Personal Characteristics
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial operations.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and staff.

The CEO serves as the primary leader and visionary for Discovery Lab, ensuring its growth, sustainability, and continued success. This individual will oversee all aspects of the organization, including strategic planning, fundraising and financial management, community engagement, program and exhibit development, and staff mentoring and training. The CEO is responsible for advancing Discovery Lab’s mission while fostering an inclusive and innovative environment for staff, volunteers, and guests.
Reporting to the Board of Directors of Discovery Lab, the CEO will:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan in alignment with Discovery Lab’s mission, values, and organizational goals.
Cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Discovery Lab, representing its vision and values to stakeholders, donors, and the broader Tulsa community.
Oversee the development and management of the annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
Monitor and report on financial performance to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Ensure operational excellence across all programs, facilities, and services.
Ensure the development and execution of a comprehensive development strategy to meet annual and long-term revenue goals.
Optimize the earned revenue opportunities while remaining aligned with the organization’s mission.
Facilitate fundraising efforts, including campaigns, grants, sponsorships, and donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Work with staff to recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of staff and volunteers.
Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to ensure team members are aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
