The successful candidate will bring:
10+ years of senior leadership experience in complex nonprofits, community organizations, and/or government agencies.
Deep operational and financial acumen, with experience overseeing facilities and program operations.
A track record of developing new programs and scaling existing ones to meet community needs.
Fundraising and external relations experience, ideally including government contracts and private philanthropy.
Experience leading mission-driven organizations and the ability to integrate business models with community values.

COMPENSATION: Salary range of $215,000-$265,000, commensurate with experience. Designated parking spot on-site included.

Principal Responsibilities:
Bronx House, a cornerstone community center in the Bronx since 1911, seeks a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. The incoming CEO will have the unique opportunity to build upon Bronx Houses rich legacy of serving a diverse community through transformative programs across all ages and life stagesincluding fitness, aquatics, performing arts, early childhood and youth education, and older adult services.
With a strong foundation and deep community roots, Bronx House is poised for revitalization and expansion. The next CEO will drive innovation, deepen community engagement, and strengthen Bronx Houses role as a vibrant and inclusive neighborhood anchor. Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Director, the CEOs key priorities will include:
Leading a strategic planning process to guide the organization
s future;
Growing and supporting a high-performing team and Board;
Driving innovation in program design and delivery;
Assessing and enhancing Bronx House
s facilities; and
Reimagining and expanding the organization
s fundraising strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Vision and Leadership
Develop and communicate a compelling vision for Bronx House that builds on its mission, values, and community-centered identity.
Partner with the Board to lead a strategic planning process to assess community needs and identify opportunities for programmatic growth and innovation.
Team Building and People Management
Recruit, develop, and retain a talented and mission-aligned team, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance.
Support and expand leadership across the organization at the staff and Board level through strategic recruiting, clear direction, and ongoing mentorship.
Program Delivery and Community Engagement
Oversee the delivery of Bronx Houses wide-ranging programsfitness, aquatics, arts, early childhood education, youth development, and older adult services
ensuring they reflect community needs and high standards.
Cultivate relationships with local leaders, community partners, and residents to enhance programs and promote Bronx House as a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible hub.
Operational, Fiscal, and Facilities Management
In partnership with the Board and outsourced finance team, manage Bronx House
s budget and ensure long-term financial sustainability across revenue streams including fee-for-service, public funding, and private philanthropy.
Oversee day-to-day operations, compliance, purchasing, and facility maintenance. Lead strategic planning for capital improvements and future space needs.
External Relations and Fundraising
Serve as an engaging and authentic ambassador for Bronx House with funders, elected officials, institutional partners, and the broader community.
Design and implement a robust, diversified fundraising strategy that grows revenue from individual donors, foundations, government sources, and corporate partners
