Required Experience:
Education: Required - Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Required - 10+ years of experience in international operations, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing global teams and operations across multiple countries. Strong background and experience in business processes, finance, organizational leadership, and people management.
International travel, experience in family strengthening or child protection, required.
Summary: The Vice President of Operations must be a strategic and collaborative leader with the purpose of advancing CERI’s innovative visions and establish effective operations across the globe. The Vice President of Operations will foster a mission driven culture, provide clear & effective communication, encourage collaboration, and creativity while ensuring a common operating picture across CERI’s global offices.
Critical Action Items:
1. Represents the agency by maintaining positive relationships and effective communication with stakeholders that result in a positive organizational image and reputation.
2. Builds and maintains strong relationships with in-country key stakeholders, including government, state, and child welfare officials, with an understanding of local cultures and values.
3. Responsible for the day-to-day global office operations of the organization, including the direct supervision of national directors, and their team members.
4. Works closely with the CERI President to translate CERI’s vision into strategic and actionable steps for growth, performance management, and annual planning, as it impacts overseas operations.
5. Oversee the financial performance of international operations, to include countries operating within budget, and implement cost control plans to bring them into alignment.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational performance, service delivery (child and family), compliance, risks and areas for improvement.
2. Identifies international gaps, evaluates opportunities for expansion, and oversees the implementation of new services.
3. Ability to travel internationally 50% of the time, at a minimum.
On an annual basis, conduct quarterly visits (planned and unplanned) in every CERI country to ensure quality of services meet and/or exceed expectations. 4. Provides routine individual supervision services with national directors and monthly all-staff meetings with international leadership.
5. Develop and implement processes, policies and systems to ensure country regulatory and reporting requirements, grants, contracts, and labor compliance.
6. Complete quarterly board data reporting requirements.
7. Maintain compliance with the forecasted budget, per country.
Other Responsibilities:
1. In a crisis, the ability to identify issues quickly, mitigate risk, assess all outcomes and can formulate a plan and execute.
2. Hires, trains, supervises, and effectively communicates with staff members reporting to this position.
3. Implement and enforce policies and procedures, per country and evaluate accordingly.
4. Oversee streamlining and improvement of human resources process, information systems and support.
5. Works collaboratively & timely with other team members, such as fundraising, sponsorship, marketing, and finance, to achieve organizational objectives.

4. Demonstrated experience overseeing complex projects through to success, meeting financial and engagement goals.
5. Highly collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, creative, and inquisitive, able to work in a fast and dynamic environment with many stakeholders.
6. Proficiency in software tools including Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
7. Valid state driver’s license with a clear driving record.
8. Valid U.S. Passport
9. Clear criminal background check.
