Required Experience:
Qualifications:
Minimum 5–7+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in a frontline major gifts or leadership giving role.
Demonstrated success cultivating and closing major gifts with a strong preference for candidates with a track record of raising up to $500,000 annually from individual donors or have strategically built programs to reach that level.
Experience working closely with nonprofit leadership, Board members, and/or high-profile stakeholders in philanthropic engagement.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build trust, tell powerful stories, and tailor messaging for sophisticated donors.
Highly organized and data-driven, with experience using fundraising CRMs (EveryAction, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.).
Strong understanding of the New York City philanthropic landscape and/or substance use and health care field a plus.
Passion for NADAP’s mission of advancing health care, employment, and equitable access through social services.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
Salary: $115,000-125,000/year

Summary: Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Development and working closely with the CEO, this high-impact role is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and family foundations, with the aim of significantly growing unrestricted revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Major Donor Strategy & Relationship Management
Personally manage and grow a portfolio of 75–150 high-capacity individual and family foundation donors and prospects, with an emphasis on gifts of $10,000–$100,000+.
Build and execute customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that align donor interests with NADAP’s strategic priorities.
Lead or support the creation of multi-year giving strategies and legacy gift opportunities.
Revenue Growth & Campaign Support
Help drive a goal of securing up to $500,000 in annual unrestricted non-governmental monies through targeted donor cultivation and engagement.
Identify opportunities for leadership giving, matching gifts, challenge grants, and new donor pipelines.
Partner with Sr. Director of Development and CEO to refine and implement an engagement plan for NADAP’s growing major donor base.
Board & Executive Collaboration
Work with the Sr. Development Director to engage with and leverage the networks of NADAP’s Board and Advisory Board members to identify and cultivate new major donor prospects.
Support the CEO and Board members in preparing for donor meetings, briefings, and follow-up stewardship.
Help lead strategies and outreach around donor cultivation events and other high-touch engagements.
Systems & Analytics
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all major donor activity in EveryAction CRM, including proposals, contact reports, event attendance, and gift tracking.
Work closely with the NADAP Finance/IT internal teams to build out reporting, pipeline dashboards, and donor segmentation.
Use data to refine prospecting and stewardship approaches.
Communications & Marketing Support
Collaborate with the marketing and digital engagement team to develop tailored messaging for major donors and campaigns.
Contribute to donor-centric newsletters, impact reports, and annual appeals to strengthen engagement and highlight NADAP’s work.
