Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships, community outreach, and reputation management preferably within a non-profit.
Public Relations and/or Strategic Alliances experience preferably within a non-profit.
A proven track record of securing high-value, mission-aligned partnerships.
Successful expansion of the organization’s presence in key markets and communities through partnerships.
High partner satisfaction and retention rates, as measured by established metrics.
Excellent public speaking and written communication skills with attention to detail.
A passion for the mission of Liberty Dogs and a deep appreciation for the Veteran community.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.

Full job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Director, Strategic Partnerships and Community Outreach to lead our efforts in sharing our mission and impact with a local and national audience. This role is crucial for building and nurturing relationships that will define, enhance and expand our external presence and impact. The Director will be responsible for forging high-impact partnerships with Veteran organizations, canine organizations, corporations, community and industry groups, while also leading our outreach efforts to ensure the Liberty Dogs mission is widely known and supported. This position is ideal for a leader passionate about our cause who can build a powerful network to advance our goals of empowering Veterans.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with Veteran organizations, corporate sponsors, academic institutions, and non-profit allies. Ensure all collaborations are mission-aligned, measurable, and mutually beneficial.
National Visibility: Collaborate with Marketing & Communications Team and Leadership Team to represent Liberty Dogs at high-profile national conferences, summits, and public forums by securing speaking engagements and recognition opportunities to maintain the organization's status as an admired leader.
Community Engagement: Create and oversee a National Ambassador Program to mobilize influencers and advocates. Develop a National Recognition & Celebration Program to honor and retain partners, donors, and community champions.
Storytelling & Advocacy: Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to deliver compelling storytelling that connects the Liberty Dogs mission to national conversations on Veterans, canine welfare, and healing, while advocating for beneficial policy changes.
Volunteer Programs: Develop volunteer opportunities that support the needs of Liberty Dogs and the community. Build and manage a team to oversee and execute those programs.
