Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years relevant fundraising experience
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfort with public speaking. Able to professionally share the mission and vision of South County Habitat for Humanity.
Math & Computer Skills: Comfort with word processing, excel and email software required. Experience with a donor management/CRM platform is desirable.
Physical & Working Requirements: Ability to work at a computer work station for long periods of time. Must also have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally to construction sites, events, meetings, etc.
Compensation: Hiring Range: $78,000 - $83,000

Full job description
The Director of Philanthropy oversees the fundraising and development activities of South County Habitat for Humanity. This includes corporate partners, individual donors, major gifts, legacy gifts, grants and fundraising events.
Corporate Partnerships (30%)
Proactively identify and develop relationships with local and regional businesses
Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate team build opportunities
Solicit home sponsorships from corporate partners
Partner with the ReStore Manager to identify business partners that may donate to the ReStore
Work with the Construction Department to identify new Gift-in-Kind opportunities
Individual Donors (30%)
Identify, research, and cultivate prospective donors to ensure a diversified funding base
Oversee quarterly direct mail campaigns and donor acknowledgment
Expand online giving and digital donor engagement
Create and oversee a donor appreciation program
Identify the potential of “major donors” and develop those relationships
Oversee the 1990 legacy gift program
Fundraising (15%)
Oversee all fundraising events and partnerships
Work with the URI campus chapter and Greek Life on possible fundraising event
Oversee capital campaigns, pledge breakfasts and other direct ask events
Grants (15%)
Identify grant opportunities with corporate partners, local foundations and civic organizations
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director on grant submissions
Ensure timely reporting and tracking for grant funding and ensure compliance
Other Responsibilities (10%)
Oversee the donor database (CharityProud) and ensure all data is accurate
Oversee the Development Committee
Recruit and oversee development interns and office volunteers
