REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)

· AICP certification or willingness to obtain

· At least 5 years of experience in municipal or local government planning/development preferred.

· Proficiency in GIS/CAD and development software

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Strong ethics, professionalism, and community-focused mindset

· Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal history check

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The City of Kennedale, Texas (pop. 10,233) is seeking a Director of Community Development. Kennedale is located just southeast of Fort Worth. We are a family-oriented community providing a refuge from the hectic pace of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement

· Guide development review and long-term community planning

· Serve as staff liaison to City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, and EDC

· Manage department budget, staff, and strategic initiatives

· Lead public engagement and represent the City at meetings and events
