Meet one of the following criteria:
Bachelor's degree in economics, business leadership, public administration, urban studies, business administration, finance or related field is required, or
four (4) years of experience in direct economic development leadership to substitute for a bachelor’s degree, or
a master’s degree and two years of experience in a related field is required.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the public or private sector in economic development, community development, business, or related field is required.
A demonstrated background with knowledge of economic and workforce development programs/systems and the labor market is required.
Excellent communication and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and meet needs of businesses that are starting or relocating to a new area.
Combination of education and experience could waive a specific requirement.
Licenses/Certifications/Other Requirements:
Current, valid and unrestricted Colorado Driver’s License required within three (3) months of hire. Delta County residency must be established within six (6) months of hire.
Hiring Range:
$64,126 to $70,539 annually

Delta County offers benefits for this position which include medical, dental, vision, and additional selective optional insurances available to the employee and eligible dependents on a cost share basis between employee and the organization. Life insurance and employee only medical insurance is available at no cost to the employee. We have a pre-tax flexible spending account. Employees contribute 4% of their salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year. We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling. Delta County has modified work schedules for positions and employees that qualify. As an employee, additional employee discounts and fringe benefits are available.

Summary
One Delta County: An Economic Alliance is a not-for-profit 501c3 guided by a volunteer board of directors. One Delta County’s purpose is to promote, strengthen and enhance Delta County's economic base including the towns and municipalities of Cedaredge, Crawford, Delta, Hotchkiss, Orchard City and Paonia, and to increase the standard of living for all residents through retention, expansion, attraction, and development of new businesses and industry that pay a livable wage and to encourage commercial capital investments.
The Director will guide, direct, support and enhance economic development activities and strategies, will provide strategic leadership to the organization, and will lead and implement projects to accomplish the organization’s mission, including but not limited to agriculture and agriculture related enhancement; commercial and manufacturing enhancement; education and business development; and collaboration with our partners to achieve a diverse and robust economy.
The Director will be an employee of Delta County and support the work of One Delta County. The Director reports to the Board of Directors of One Delta County and to the Delta County Administrator.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Work with the One Delta County Board of Directors and Board Committees, develop and coordinate a strategic plan that clearly articulates short-range and long-range priorities and goals.
Work in partnership with local governments, Region 10, the Workforce Center, Chambers of Commerce, and other economic development partners to ensure cohesion in marketing and promotions of Delta County.
Represent Delta County and One Delta County on boards and commissions deemed appropriate by either Delta County or by One Delta County.
Utilize and have knowledge of local, regional and state economic development programs and funding sources.
Respond to all business leads and inquiries in a timely manner, utilize all possible resources and information; develop and manage an efficient prospect tracking, monitoring and reporting system.
Market and conduct outreach communications regarding One Delta County’s role in economic development and ongoing projects, including but not limited to website content, social media posts, public presentations, and traditional media releases.
Develop and execute specific marketing and promotional strategies for targeted company recruitment.
Participate in community efforts to address such issues as strategic planning, infrastructure planning and development and future project development.
Actively recruit and retain One Delta County investors.
Maintain positive and productive relationships with partners to promote Delta County economic development.
Commit to the success of One Delta County as a strategic leader, big-picture thinker who has a passion for all of Delta County. Look beyond an individual community or business to gain an understanding and working knowledge of the entire County and its economic needs.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbal environments to build relationships that will expand and grow economic development in Delta County.
