Bachelor’s degree preferred, or the equivalent in substantial, relevant work experience
A minimum of 8 years of senior leadership experience and 15 years of overall related experience is required. Experience leading a team with (5) or more full-time staff
Demonstrated ability to lead a nonprofit organization with strong general administrative, organizational, management, partnership-building skills
Experienced in implementing measurable strategies and concrete actions that advance the mission
Refined people management skills and extensive human resources management experience
Substantial marketing, branding and public relations experience with measurable results and the ability to communicate VYSA’s mission, impact and goals
Extensive financial management experience with budgets in excess of $4 million dollars
Strong technology skills, including social media, accounting software, and member databases
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess relevant accounting and financial knowledge, including budgeting, managing expenses, tax exemption status and financial oversight
Ability to conceptualize, co-create and implement organizational growth and membership goals
Strong event-planning background a plus
Operational experience with a large athletic or other facility including maintenance, turf management, staffing, event marketing and sales
Exceptional interpersonal skills: proven success in building strong and productive work teams and ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve goals

Reports To: VYSA Board of Directors
Schedule: Full Time; 40 hours per week required. Some nights and weekend work required seasonally for tournaments, training, conferences and monthly board meetings.
Location: Onsite/In-Person
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt
People Management: Will directly supervise 10 team members.
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary of $100,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience

About the Virginia Youth Soccer Association
VYSA serves over 100,000 members in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia and operates well established programs including the Olympic Development Program, USSF Coaching Education, National Championship Series State Cup and President's Cup, Risk Management and Player Safety and more. VYSA owns and operates the Publix Virginia Soccer Training Center, a 50-acre multi-use athletic complex located in Fredericksburg, VA. VYSA is a member of the United States Youth Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:The new Executive Director will have a proven track record of strong financial management along with the ability to manage all budgetary aspects ensuring the financial stability of the organization.
Sponsorship: Build upon our past success in attracting new and strengthening existing high level sponsorships through asset management, marketing and the sales process.
Team Management:Lead and collaborate with a very experienced State Office Staff, to advance VYSA’s mission to support the game and our member clubs and leagues. Oversee all operations and assume ultimate responsibility for the success of the organization.
Marketing: Provide extensive marketing leadership to continue the growth of the VYSA brand via digital, social media and event marketing. Bring extensive experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), digital analytics, social media tactics and sponsorship marketing.
Facility Management:The Executive Director will be experienced in managing an athletic complex and knowledgeable about the care and maintenance of both natural grass and synthetic turf. Continue to develop and improve the Publix Virginia Soccer Training Center.
Thought Leadership: Amplify the impact of VYSA’s programming, member services and other initiatives to national partners, governing bodies and membership ensuring all understand the benefit of their association with VYSA.
Strategic Planning:The Board of Directors and the VYSA Staff have developed and begun implementation of a new strategic plan that will ensure the Association’s continued growth and success.
Communications and Outreach:Serve as the chief spokesperson and public face of the organization. Develop and maintain relationships with member clubs, coaches, referees, and volunteers. Foster productive partnerships with external stakeholders, sponsors, and community organizations. Report on the organization's condition to stakeholders and the Board of Directors.
