Full job description
The Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO) is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Major Gift Officer/Manager of Leadership Giving to join our Development team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Leadership Giving, this position plays a vital role in cultivating meaningful relationships with donors who make HSMO's life-saving work possible.

The Manager will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 leadership and major gift donors and prospects, developing individualized strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts of $1,000 and above. This position also supports donor recognition and stewardship activities-including the Women's Leadership Council, key donor events, and the exploration of a new Longmeadow Rescue Ranch affinity group for donors passionate about that branch of our mission.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, strategic fundraiser, and collaborative teammate with a genuine passion for animal welfare. Experience with major gifts, annual giving, or donor engagement programs is required; experience using Raiser's Edge NXT is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and grow a portfolio of ~150 leadership and major donors.
Create and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies to increase donor engagement.
Support stewardship events and donor affinity group activities.
