Required Experience:
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems.
Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and securing major gifts.
Strong public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and think strategically.
Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations.
Familiarity with the Atlanta philanthropic community is a plus.
Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends for events.

What You’ll Do
As Development Director, you’ll lead the charge in all fundraising efforts—from donor development and grant writing to events and communications—ensuring LaAmistad continues to grow and thrive.
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and mentor fundraising staff, ensuring clarity, accountability, and growth.
Lead effective weekly team meetings.
Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews with a focus on feedback and development.
Manage hiring, evaluations, recognition, and performance standards for direct reports.
Fundraising & Stewardship
Design and implement a strategic fundraising plan encompassing individual, annual, and institutional giving.
Use a moves management approach to grow donor relationships and retention.
Lead the planning and execution of signature events such as
Fiesta LaAmistad, Volunteer Breakfast, and donor appreciation events.
Collaborate with the Board Fundraising Committee to leverage relationships and meet funding goals.
Experience managing Capital Campaigns
Budget & Reporting
Establish and meet annual fundraising targets in partnership with the Executive Director.
Manage fundraising budgets, provide forecasts, and present regular progress reports.
Communications & Donor Engagement
Build and execute a communications plan for donors, volunteers, and community supporters.
Collaborate with the Communications Director to elevate LaAmistad’s brand, voice, and visibility across platforms.
