The ideal candidate will have a degree in Planning, Public Management, Economic Development or related field; have 2+ years of professional experience and experience interacting with public boards; be knowledgeable of Maine TIF laws, Pine Tree Zones, Opportunity Zones, Community Development Block Grants, and other applicable economic development tools and opportunities. Full job description
City of Old Town Economic Development Director The City of Old Town, Maine, (pop. 7,503) is seeking a responsive and energetic Economic Development Director. Old Town is a community offering access to transportation, a trained workforce, and a commitment to assisting the business community to assist the City to prosper. This position, working closely with City staff, the Old Town Development LLC, DTOT and serves as the Economic/Community Development Director for the City. Reporting directly to the City Manager, this position makes long- and short-term economic development/goals for the use of real estate in Old Town. This position will assist in directing economic development opportunities, supporting business retention, and local marketing. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional who enjoys working with the public and who has excellent writing, public presentation, and communication skills.
