Required Experience:

Qualifications

Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field; nonprofit or recreation management experience preferred.
Minimum 5 years of business or nonprofit leadership experience.
Strong skills in fundraising, membership development, and financial management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
Knowledge of Vermont’s outdoor recreation community and ATV issues strongly preferred.
Willingness to travel statewide when needed.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $90,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience.
Health insurance coverage is a stipend, retirement plan matching in a Simple IRA Plan, and PTO based on length of service.

Full job description
The Vermont ATV Sportsman’s Association (VASA) is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our statewide nonprofit dedicated to promoting safe and responsible ATV recreation, supporting local clubs, and preserving trail access across Vermont.

About the Role

The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of VASA, reporting to the Executive Board of Directors. This position is responsible for strategic leadership, membership growth, advocacy, and day-to-day operations. The ED also serves as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for VASA, strengthening relationships with members, landowners, government agencies, and outdoor recreation partners.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership to staff, local clubs, and volunteers across Vermont.
Grow and support membership through outreach and engagement.
Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners, state agencies, and community partners.
Oversee finances, budgeting, and grant opportunities.
Represent VASA in advocacy efforts, promoting ATV access and responsible recreation.
Report on and collaborate with the Executive Board to advance VASA’s mission.
