Development Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Development & Communications Manager
Location: Driggs, Idaho | Hybrid (up to 16 hours/week remote)
Salary: Starting $85K+, depending on experience, plus robust benefits

About Teton Regional Land Trust
Teton Regional Land Trust (TRLT) works with private landowners to protect farms
and ranches, fish and wildlife habitat, and scenic open spaces across eastern Idaho
now and for generations to come. Serving six counties in the Upper Snake River
watershed, TRLT has permanently conserved more than 43,000 acres of working
lands and critical habitat.
This is a leadership role for someone who wants their fundraising expertise to
directly shape landscapes, communities, and conservation outcomes.
The Role
TRLT is seeking an experienced, strategic Development Director to lead and grow
all fundraising and engagement efforts supporting land conservation, stewardship,
and a $1.5M annual operating budget.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for setting long-term fundraising
strategy, building deep donor relationships, strengthening internal fundraising
culture, and mentoring a talented engagement and communications team. The
Development Director works closely with the Executive Director and Board to
ensure TRLT has the philanthropic resources to meet ambitious conservation goals.
What You’ll Do
Fundraising Strategy & Leadership (80%)
Analyze giving trends, design and execute annual and multi-year fundraising
strategies aligned with TRLT’s strategic plan
Lead and grow diversified revenue streams including annual giving, major
gifts, foundations, corporate support, planned giving, monthly giving, and
events
Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, board members,
corporate partners, and foundations
Solicit major gifts through in-person asks, proposals, and strategic outreach
Expand planned giving opportunities (bequests, securities, real estate gifts)
Strengthen donor stewardship, recognition, and reporting systems
Ensure donor data integrity and effective use of CRM and fundraising tools
Prepare clear, compelling fundraising reports for staff and Board
Build organizational fundraising capacity by supporting and training Board
members, staff, and volunteers
Outreach & Communications Leadership (10%)
Oversee development and implementation of integrated communications
and engagement strategies
Align outreach, events, and messaging with fundraising goals
Guide creation of high-impact donor, outreach, and educational materials
Supervise and support the Development & Communications Manager,
fostering professional growth and accountability
Grants & Institutional Giving (10%)
Oversee grant strategy, research, and relationships for foundation grants
Coordinate with conservation staff to cultivate grantor relationships
Support high-quality proposal development and grant management systems
