Required Experience:
What You Bring
Leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment
Strong public speaking and relationship-building abilities
Successful fundraising experience, including grant writing and donor engagement
Financial and budget management skills; QuickBooks proficiency preferred
A track record of delivering measurable outcomes
High self-motivation, initiative, and follow-through
Construction industry experience is a plus

Executive Director – Construction Allies
Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid) | Full-Time | Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Construction Allies is an established and mission-driven nonprofit accelerating equity and opportunity for underrepresented contractors in the construction industry. We’re growing—and seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Executive Director to lead our next chapter.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the Mission
Provide strategic vision and organizational leadership
Build strong partnerships with the Board, funders, and community/industry partners
Represent Construction Allies publicly with clarity and confidence
Drive Growth and Fundraising
Expand philanthropic partnerships, sponsorships, and donor relationships
Lead grant writing, grant management, and reporting
Serve as the primary public spokesperson for the organization
Deliver Impact
Ensure programs deliver measurable outcomes for participating contractors
Strengthen evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement processes
Collaborate with construction professionals, workforce organizations, and community partners
Manage Operations and Finance
Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and organizational performance
Maintain accurate financial systems (including QuickBooks)
Support and develop a small, efficient, mission-driven team
