Additional Information:

This position requires ability to generate and apply unique business insights; strong leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams; interpersonal effectiveness, including the ability to lead change and influence without direct authority; ability to structure complex problems and create a roadmap for their solution. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills for effective delivery of messages to business partners and clients in presentations, web interactivity, manuals, marketing efforts, brochures, etc.

This position requires an ability to fairly and effectively work with a wide variety of people and groups, including staff, vendors, partners, and the public. This position requires skill in planning, organizing, assigning, managing and coordinating activities of staff; effective time management; presenting ideas effectively; dealing constructively with conflict and developing consensus; selecting, supervising, training, evaluating staff and delegating responsibilities. Position will require ability to learn and apply KHC policies and procedures related to purchasing/procurement, programs, support functions, state and federal housing programs.

This position requires excellent conceptual, analytical, decision-making, organization and planning skills. Must have a strong understanding of marketing, communications, and project management. Must have a working knowledge of current marketing methods (including use of web and social media strategies) and goal setting, best practices, and marketing metrics, measurements, and outcomes.

Working knowledge of state, federal and legislative processes and general knowledge of various federal, state, and KHC housing programs is preferred.

Supervision requirements include the ability to effectively select, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate staff.

Education Requirements:

This level of knowledge would normally be acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration or related field. An additional four years’ direct-related experience may substitute for degree requirements.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a progressively responsible communications, marketing, or project management role or as a strategic consultant within a corporation, financial institution, or government agency is preferred. Also requires a minimum of two (2) years’ direct supervisory experience. Experience must include coordination of enterprise-wide projects, project planning, effective public and interpersonal communication, change communication, budgeting, corporate procurement, and scheduling, assigning, and evaluating workflow of staff.

Job Description

Job Title: Managing Director

Work Group: Communications and Marketing Services

Reports to: Deputy Executive Director, Business Services

General Purpose of the Job

The Managing Director of Communications and Marketing partners closely with executive leadership and program managers to plan, direct, and implement integrated communications and marketing strategies that support KHC’s policies and programmatic priorities. The role leads a high-performing team and oversees corporate branding and public image; strategic messaging across communications, marketing, and customer service channels; management of corporate websites; and corporate event planning. This position may serve as a communications liaison between executive leadership and local, state, and federal officials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead the development and execution of integrated communications and marketing strategies aligned with KHC’s mission, policy objectives, and programmatic priorities.

· Partner with executive leadership and program managers to ensure coordinated planning, consistent messaging, and effective support of organizational initiatives.

· Oversee corporate branding, reputation management, and public-facing communications to strengthen public trust and organizational credibility for all KHC publications and messaging.

· Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing communications and marketing team and oversee external communications vendors and partners Plan and coordinate events to align thematically with strategic corporate goals and initiatives; manages and facilitates content development, marketing, and communications for internal and external events.

· Establish performance metrics for communications and marketing initiatives; analyze data to assess effectiveness, reach, and impact; and provide regular reports and insights to executive leadership to inform strategy and decision-making.

· Provide clear, consistent, corporate communications presence to the public, through public and media relations, corporate messaging, marketing strategy, crisis and change communication.

· Direct content strategy, performance, and management for corporate websites, social media and digital platforms.

· Partner with executive team to lead media relations and may serve as a communications liaison to local, state, and federal officials, as appropriate.
