Position Summary:
La Casa Hogar seeks an experienced director with a proven track record of success in the nonprofit sector. They are passionate about our mission and vision. They practice effective leadership to facilitate a positive internal organizational culture. They advocate externally to advance equitable systemic change and inspire others with our vision. They collaborate with the Board of Directors in their role of ensuring a duty of care, making progress, and fulfilling its mission.
The new Executive Director will be well practiced in reduction of unintended harm from unconscious bias and positional power dynamics within hierarchical structures. They will bring a mindset of humility, inclusion, power sharing, learning from mistakes, and gratitude. With the principle of listening to the voices of people most directly impacted to inform decisions, the director will be a servant leader who possesses the skills to engage voices of all stakeholders of the organization with appreciation of collective knowledge and lived experience.
The ED will inspire a shared vision of an uplifting future for La Casa Hogar and the larger community. They will enable all stakeholders of the organization to act toward that vision and encourage the heart along the way. They will encourage staff to achieve their best work through mutual accountability feedback, appreciation, and continuous learning. They will model skillful interpersonal relationship-building based on trust, integrity, and effective communications with individuals and groups. They will facilitate and practice principles of a learning organization utilizing quantitative and qualitative data collection, collaborative and inclusive reflection, interpretation, and meaning making with all stakeholders to inform strategic decisions and action.
Role Description:
In general, the Executive Director will lead and collaborate across the entire organization’s five core areas to achieve mission impact and vision advancement:
Culture
Develop an organizational climate in which staff feel cared for and accomplished in their work.
Facilitate a positive culture in which staff contribute to mutual care and collaboration.
Operations
Facilitate collaboration with all stakeholders.
Execute a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
External communication strategies.
Efficient and appropriate tools to support staff effectiveness and program impact.
Clear administrative procedures that support staff to achieve their work goals and see their contribution in mission progress.
Guide professional development with all staff.
On-going leadership learning with all staff to co-create a culture of mutual care and support.
Programs
Collaborate with staff to grow capacity to achieve desired positive mission impact.
Ensure that programs are executed with excellence.
Oversee progress tracking and data collection of outputs and outcomes.
Assess progress on an ongoing basis, facilitating reflection, celebration, and innovation to improve outcomes for participants.
Financial
Oversee the organization’s financial, ensuring that the organization is financially sound and operating with financial prudence for sustainability.
Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget, working with the staff members to ensure that it aligns with the organization’s goals and priorities.
Ensure that financial reports are accurate and provide detailed financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Advocacy
Represents the interest of community members with partner organizations, public agencies, and elected officials.
Connects the voices of people most directly impacted in spaces to change systems for more equitable outcomes.
