About the Organization
The New Hampshire Dental Society (NHDS) is the leading professional organization representing dentists across the state. NHDS is committed to advancing the profession through advocacy, education, and member engagement while promoting optimal oral health for the public.
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth, modernization, and impact.
Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief staff executive of NHDS and is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, supporting governance, overseeing financial performance, and representing the organization at the state and national levels.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on strategy, execution, and relationship-building—not day-to-day administrative work. The ED leads a small team and works closely with the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, and key stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Governance
Serve as primary advisor to the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee
Drive strategic planning and organizational priorities
Ensure governance processes, policies, and compliance are followed
Financial Management
Develop and manage annual budgets
Monitor financial performance and ensure fiscal sustainability
Identify and grow non-dues revenue streams (sponsorships, partnerships, programs)
Advocacy & External Relations
Represent NHDS with legislators, regulatory bodies, and healthcare stakeholders
Oversee lobbying efforts and legislative strategy
Build and maintain strategic partnerships across the state
Membership & Engagement
Lead initiatives to grow and retain membership
Strengthen relationships with component societies and stakeholders
Enhance member value and engagement
Organizational Leadership
Supervise Deputy Director and staff
Establish clear goals, accountability, and performance standards
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture
